Carl Martin has used the Plexi-style amp Volume, Gain and Tone controls, plus the Boost Side Range, Frequency and Boost Volume. On top of that there is a three-stage LowCut section, which can be adjusted using a small switch at the top of the unit.
PlexiTape is a faithful analog modeled simulation of the *Maestro® Echoplex® EP-3™ vintage tape echo that made THE SOUND of the ’70s for its tone and reliability.
Current version: v1.1.2 (October 2020)
We put special care on modelling this unit on every aspect: motor, tape, FET preamplifier, heads and even the infamous “Sound On Sound”. SOS allows you to use bypass the echo and therefore use the tape as a looping recorder. Furthermore, we expanded it with new features including a full stereo double delay line, tempo sync and more.
On the Configuration page, you can specify whether you want to use VST Amp Rack in stereo or in mono mode. To process the pre-effects, the amplifier, and the cabinets in full stereo mode, make sure that the plug-in is inserted on a stereo track, and activate the Stereo button. Blue Cat's Free Amp is a completely free guitar amp simulation plug-in offering three amp models created with the acclaimed Blue Cat's Destructor amp simulation modeler.Inspired by legendary guitar amplifiers from the real world, the included 'classic clean', 'classic drive' and 'modern drive".

- POWER - Power ON/OFF.
- DRIVE - Determines the amount of gain applied by the Pre Amp.
- LOW, MID, SWEEP, HIGH - Tone Stack controls.
- POW AMP - Determines the amount of gain applied by the Power Amp.
- OUTPUT - Output level.
- POWER - Power ON/OFF.
- HQ - Oversampling ON / OFF. Use OFF to reduce CPU usage, use ON to get the quality sound without aliases (more CPU). When a project or the track is exported to a wave file (mixdown, bounce, render, freeze) oversampling is always automatically enabled regardless of the position of the button.
- GAIN - Determines the amount of gain applied by the Pre Amp.
- LOW, MID, SWEEP, HIGH - Tone Stack controls.
- POWER AMP - Determines the amount of gain applied by the Power Amp.
- VOLUME - Output level.
- After Nick_Crow_8505_Lead insert some guitar cabinet emulation.

- Dropdown menu built with the .wav files contained in the directory where the last impulse is loaded
- Next and Prev buttons to navigate through the impulse directory
- Solo button for each slots
- Channel selection for each slots
- Possibility to link the loaded impulse of 2 slots (other controls stay independant)
- High Pass and Low Pass filters for each slots
- Phase, Delay, Pan and Volume controls for each slots
- oversampling : determines the signal oversampling; up to 8x
- mono/stereo : determines the signal routing
- input : controls the magnitude of the input signal
- drive : controls the amount of gain
- low : controls the low frequency
- mid : controls the mid frequency
- high : controls the high frequency
- presence : presence control
- resonance* : controls the amount of resonance resulting from the interaction with the speaker cabinet
- Ch 1 (Clean/Yellow): gain, bass, middle, treble, contour, power amp gain volume, 3 positions pre eq, gain boost
- Ch 2 & Ch 3 (Blue & Red): gain, bass, middle, treble, contour, power amp gain, volume, 3 positions pre eq, gain-structure, gain boost and plexi mode
Channel 2 & 3 (Blue & Red) have two other switches to give the user different gain/tone :
- The Plexi channel is a lower gain channel than the normal Blue & Red ones. The plexi channel can be assigned to either Channel 2 or 3. Note: structure switch and Gain Boost switch are inactive in Plexi mode.
- The Structure switch is an overall gain reduction switch for Channels 2 & 3. When ON (high position), both channels 2 & 3 have less gain. Obviously, when OFF (down position), the preamp will more gain.
