1. We're currently conducting systematic tests with the release version of macOS 11 (Big Sur) in order to offer full compatibility of our products as soon as possible. You can find our latest compatibility status - here

Please note that although announced at the same time as macOS Big Sur, Apple Silicon processors are an independent release with separate compatibility concerns for NI products. Compatibility with macOS Big Sur will not yet ensure compatibility with Apple Silicon processors. Download canon mx340 drivers mac. At the moment, Native Instruments products are not supported on computers with Apple Silicon processors. Read more - here

Rescanning Soundtoys in Ableton Live 10.1

Live

MacOS

  1. Open up Ableton Live. In the top bar of your computer, click Live to open the dropdown menu, and select Preferences. You can also use the keyboard shortcut '⌘,' to open the preferences window.
  2. In the Preferences window that appears, select the Plug-Ins tab on the left.
  3. If you've recently installed Ableton Live, it's likely that the default settings only have VST3 enabled. Soundtoys does not currently support VST3, so you'll need to enable VST2 and/or AU plug-ins in order to use Soundtoys in Ableton Live. To do so, just switch the Use Audio Units and/or the Use VST2 Plug-In System Folder settings from off to on.
  4. After enabling those settings, check to see if Soundtoys appears in Ableton's browser. If your plug-ins still aren't showing up, navigate back to the Plug-Ins tab in Preferences.
  5. In the Plug-Ins tab, you'll notice a button that says Rescan, but just clicking on that will not rescan Blacklisted plug-ins. To reset the blacklist, hold down the Option/Alt key on your keyboard, then click Rescan while continuing to hold down Option/Alt
  6. Ableton will begin to reset and rescan all of your plug-ins. If you have many plug-ins installed, this may take some time, but it shouldn't last longer than a few minutes.
  7. You're done! Ableton will now display your plug-ins in the browser.
Ableton 10 plugins not showing

Live scans all available plug-ins and once completed they will show up in Live's browser under the Plug-ins category. If you've installed the plug-in correctly but it's still not appearing in Live, see our dedicated article: VST/AU plug-in doesn't appear in Live. If they are all in different folders Ableton Live may not be able to locate them all without changing the Custom Folder. In Ableton Live, now go to Options Preferences Plug-Ins Plug-In Sources (at the bottom). Make sure 'Use VST Plug-In Custom Folder' is set to On. Live scans all available plug-ins and once completed they will show up in Live's browser under the Plug-ins category. If you've installed the plug-in correctly but it's still not appearing in Live, see our dedicated article: VST/AU plug-in doesn't appear in Live. I've installed this (free) VST from Valhalla but it's not showing up in Ableton. I've also installed Valhalla's super massive and space modulator and they work fine. I'm running the latest version of Ableton live 10 standard. I've installed the 64-bit versions of all the VST's in the same location (C: Program Files VSTPlugins). These will be grouped by plug-in format: Ableton Live supports Audio Units and VST on Mac systems, but only VST on Windows systems. Click the triangle next to the plug-in format you wish to use to display the available plug-ins. Locate the plug-in you want to use in the list.

Windows

  1. Open up Ableton Live, and navigate to Live's Preferences.

Then, under Use VST2 Plug-In Custom Folder, click Browse, and select the folder where Soundtoys is installed on your computer. By default, you'll want to select the following location:
    C: Program Files VSTPlugins
  4. After enabling those settings, check to see if Soundtoys appears in Ableton's browser. If your plug-ins still aren't showing up, navigate back to the Plug-Ins tab in Preferences.
  5. In the Plug-Ins tab, you'll notice a button that says Rescan. Just clicking that will not rescan Blacklisted plug-ins.To reset the blacklist, hold down the Option/Alt key on your keyboard, then click Rescan while continuing to hold down Option/Alt.
  6. Ableton will begin to reset and rescan all of your plug-ins. If you have many plug-ins installed, this may take some time, but it shouldn't last longer than a few minutes.
  7. You're done! Ableton will now display your plug-ins in the browser.
